Inspiration

We are fascinated by diodes but understand how difficult they are to wrap your head around, so we wanted to help other people who, like us, are interested in diodes.

What it does

Our product is an interactive webpage that will teach users about how diodes work. Electrical engineering can be a daunting subject to learn, so we wanted to give learners a visual and down to earth way to learn the basics.

How we built it

For the purposes of development speed, we developed the website using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. To collaborate as a team we used Git/GitHub as version control.

Challenges we ran into

We had originally planned to make a completely different project for a separate category. But midway through the night we had to make a pivot when our teammate who was spearheading the project unexpectedly had to drop out. It provided us a valuable lesson in failing fast and changing our momentum.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

While it was disheartening to have to change development from our original idea, we are proud of how we were able to still deliver an interesting project within our time constraints. It was impressive to see the new energy brought in order to finish on time and to ship a complete product.

What we learned

We learned a lot about Rust and Slint for our previous idea, and we also learned how to be flexible and resilient in the face of adversity for our current idea.

What's next for DiodeLearner

We could expand our website, add more information, more pages, and even some demos in the future.
