Inspiration
Diversify was created when we were thinking how cultures shape the world as we know it. We want to bring the world closer and make it a better place to live in. A world we want to live is the one which we all human beings can belong. Every culture has something to offer to the world, unfortunately sometimes we don't realize that.
What it does
Diversify is an app that connects individuals with other cultures and communities via activities in order to live the best experiences of their lives. With Diversify you can get real interactions with different kinds of people and communities. Diversify vision is a world where cultures are always together.
How we built it
We began by design thinking what are the problems in our digital era, one of them is social exclusion of many communities. We immediately decided to design a solution to that.
Challenges we ran into
We didn't know how to address the problem of social exclusion and deep differences between communities. After all the thinking we finally took action and stated that the solution to this is a place where all the people can feel that they can belong. So then, we had the challenge of making Diversify a place like that.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We didn't know about Firebase, we took a workshop by Google and started to experimenting, we also did a lot of validation of the ideas, something we are not that used to. And finally we where working all night, hadn't sleep until we had the most important features. (We haven't, actually)
What we learned
We learned a LOT about teamwork, and about app development, but most importantly we learned that communities are the pillar of the society. And all of us were experimenting something clicking as if that was some thing that a big software company should be doing now.
What's next for diversify
There are a lot of things, we want to grow as professionals, but also we want to create value to the world, and as we state: we want to bring the world closer and bond better relations between cultures. We will be looking forward doing that all of our lives!
