Doing-Good

We want to bring together people that are in need of help and those that are able to help others and want to do something good. Doing-Good is a promising approach to solve this problem. By allowing those in need of help to create new Quest they are able to find volunteers that will help them solve these quests. Volunteers are able to swipe through a "Tinder-Like" view in order to find a Quest suiting their skill and interest. After having matched for new Quests they can exchange their contact details and get together to solve the quest. In further Versions we are will add a In-App Chat function.

Furthermore we have added a slight detail of gamification, allowing Volunteers to gain karma points for helping those in need. In further versions we will added an In-App ranking system to expand the aspect of gamification. We wanted to keep the gamification low, as many of the potential Volunteers would rather prefer a simple application allowing them to find those in need of help and match up with them.

We also added a feature that allows the Volunteers to set the distance, how far a quest may be away, and then only display quest within this range.

In further versions we will improve this feature and will also add a quest-view filtered by the Volunteers skill.

Starting of without no knowledge of App programming and javascript we directly started collecting ideas and then got to work: Installing frameworks such as react native, setting up a firebase backend and then scrolling through thousand of pages and tutorials of react-native documentation. Finally we got closer to our goal when we had to fight with a total broken Version-control at 4am in the morning. The next hours were basically used to just fixed these problems and then add some last detail to our application: Pretty proud of building our first application we finally finished :)
