Inspiration:
52.5% consumers do not read or are aware of the ingredients' list written on the packed food labels Many of us haven’t even heard or can pronounce words like emulsifiers let alone know what impact they have on our health Women’s nutritional needs are often ignored in mainstream solutions, inconsiderate of their infradian rhythms
What it does
We simplify complex nutritional data into direct actionable scores providing the users a powerful tool to make informed decisions about their food products User’s get comprehensive point of views regarding their health as we target multiple vital organs Scan the label -> Know how good/bad it is for your heart, skin, tum-tum and kidney (with specific insights) Approachable, color-coded and well thought out UI
How we built it
- Started with design
- Intensive research form research papers to collete and refine the data
- Backend
- Forntend on flutter
- Version control using github.
Working:
- Click or upload a photo from our app
- OCR will Recognize the text from ingredients label
- Parse the data into a standardised format
- Searching and Mapping for Ingredients through fuzzy , alias matching
- Display the data in a minimalistic way to the client
- Normalization of scores (We curated a list of approx 500 ingredients in which each ingredient is distinct based on weights. These are decided by consulting research papers to study their effects on different organs.)
Challenges we ran into:
Python dependency issues, Too much research
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Flutter learning at once, get it done in a night, intensive research
What we learned
Flutter, Research paper analysys
