Inspiration
We wanted to make a "children's" game with a simple and wacky art style. Along with this we wanted to add a twist based on the book Ender's Game.
What it does
Swing your squeaky hammer to fight off the screen invading aliens. Check the news feed to learn about the chaos you have caused as a result.
How we built it
We used unity and webgl.
Challenges we ran into
Implementing physics for the hammer took longer than expected.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The art style turned out perfect for not having someone good at drawing art. Also, our time management went perfect. We created a plan of action along with a timeline and hit these marks almost perfectly, normally a bit ahead of deadline.
What we learned
We gained more knowledge on time management as a team. Working in a 24 hour crunch with a team of people. Also, drawing out ideas on a whiteboard helps make sure everyone is on the same page.
What's next for Doodle day
We are from Rochester (RIT), so we can show off the game to local developers at local events. Take feedback and potentially continue working on the game.
