Inspiration
As college students, we often find ourselves too busy to deal with mundane, everyday tasks like laundry. What if there was a community based app where people can help others with their laundry while they are doing their own load and get paid for it?
What it does
You can use DuorWash as a client or a servicer. When you are doing laundry, you simply indicate on the app you are active and other users can send their request in, and you can deny based on your preferences. Conversely, if you are in the need of laundry being done, search for active users in your building, and send a request to get your clothes washed. It's a symbiotic relationship.
How we built it
We used Figma as the front end and Xano as the backend; Bravo Studio was used to bind the data together to create this barebones prototype.
Challenges we ran into
It was our first time using any of these programs, so there was a learning curve to it. Storing the data across both platforms was confusing in the beginning.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Delegating tasks to each member according to one's best ability. And actually creating a mockup that works and takes in data.
What we learned
We learned Figma, Xano, and Bravo Studio. And what to expect out of future hackathons.
What's next for Door Wash
DuorWash has potential to be expanded to optimize other errands, like grocery shopping, traveling to the PCL to get COVID tests, and dog walking.
