Inspiration
We care about patients safety. Medical error is a huge error with often fatal consequences, so we used graphic and material design to help try to mitigate that.
What it does
This project has two parts - a label maker and a pill cap. The label maker prints out labels in a way that add safeguards to the process, reducing the likelihood of an error on the pharmacy's part. The pill cap is adaptable and is designed to work with current pill bottle designs, and has an alert system and child-proof, easy-open dispensing mechanism.
How we built it
We built the label maker with HTML/JavaScript/CSS, and prototyped the pill cap in Autodesk Fusion.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We think this is a legitimate prototype.
What's next for Dose Defender
We'll just have to see :)
