Inspiration
2030 Goal: UN CALL TO ACTION One key goal is to achieve better health and wellness but the pandemic was an obstacle as well a good teacher, many doctors prefer to don't have direct contact making virtual appointments a good solution, the problem is that direct contact was a key to have correct prognosis.
What it does
Dontror is a prototype of doctor's autonomous drone assistant that helps telemedicine, including the necessary equipment to improve prognosis.
How we built it
We made simulations of different drones to learn more about their design, and have a better grasp on their quirks and limitations and we made a small model with python. Also, we made a prototype website to create a platform so consumers can review our offer. The web page made with html, css, javascript and uploaded on github, the drone control simulation on webots, SITL and djin using languages such as python and c
Challenges we ran into
The principal challenge that we have, is that the libraries of the drone control are very old, so we need to modify it to run on modern systems. With that we have some issues of incompatibility, so is other of the challenges that we resolve.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Make a good web page, create a simulated environment and control a drone
What we learned
The real limitations for a drone service that requires load transportation make necessary to have a planned path that optimizes the use of battery, to design this we can use several software tools such as webots and ardupilot
What's next for Drontor
With all the knowledge that we obtain the next steps for Drontor are analyze, design and create the final model of the drone, that works as a complete system with all the features. We want to add more equipment in order to help more medical specialists. Finally we need to improve the control system considering the increase of aerial traffic.
