Inspiration

Before 2020, Farmers faced issues in selling their products(crops or such) because there exist a middle man which reduces their profits and value. But after Farmer act of 2020, Farmers are now free to sell their products directly to consumers.

What it does

It allows farmers to list their product on our application through an SMS as most of the farmers in India don't carry a smartphone. It lists items based upon farmers request and allows their product available for the consumers. A negotiation feature is also added because it is a very negotiable market which varies based on amount, weather, etc. to act as a farmer to the consumer (implemented based on a min-max range). Also We have made sure to make the listing anonymous as there can be multiple issues with big farmers, middleman, etc.

How we built it

We have build our:- Frontend: React JS Backend : NodeJS, ExpressJS (Using Gmail API, Twilio to get the data received from farmer's side) Database: MongoDB Atlas, Firebase Deployment and Production Service: Arweave, AWS and Github

Challenges we ran into

We ran into facing multiple challenges in getting the data from farmer because we had to learn about multiple SMS services and APIs because most of the services provide US numbers( not useful ) or Pay for these services.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to accomplish over the challenges the SMS integration by redirecting our SMS on our G-mail and fetch data from there using Gmail API. Also we were able to build our frontend and backend completely and successfully deploy on Arweare.
