Inspiration Ever saved a place to eat you've seen on social media but forgot about it? How about been to a new place and just wondered what's trendy? Eatfluence has got you covered for, never forget again! Eatfluence was inspired by the aforementioned problem, combining user friendly design Web design with autonomous AI agents from Fetch.AI in order to retrieve and simplify and resolve this problem for all users.
What it does Our website retrieves the most popular and trendy tik toks to do with restaurants in an area of the user's choice, before simplifying the data gathered from the tik toks and presenting them to the user along with the locations of the tik toks and the tik toks themselves.
How we built it Using Front-end Webdev technologies in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, as well as back-end Python technologies for the AI models.
Challenges we ran into Fetch.AI's agents were especially challenging to use. We later found that one of our implementation ideas were actually impossible to do. (40 minutes before the deadline).
Accomplishments that we're proud of We both learned major amounts in the time-frame given. The back-end developer entirely learned how to code in python and use the fetch.AI agent APIs. The front-end developer almost entirely learned how to build animated websites using Webdev technologies. I genuinely believe we cooked with this one.
What we learned How important scope management is. We thought of keeping the scope small (just 1 main task), finishing early and then up scaling from there... but the one task we set ended up taking all the allotted time and didn't even end up finished. If we tried to add too many other features it's possible we would have no working demo at all.
