Inspiration
A lot of the times when you think of the struggles women have in Tech, there tends to be an initial lack of confidence that can arise, based on workplace stereotypes as well as not being able to have a community with heavy work and school loads. So we thought of EchoSpace, an aesthetic website to connect with other women in university, in STEM or otherwise.
What it does
EchoStage is a platform that aims to get connect students who identify women together to support each other when they feel they aren't doing too well, or need a community to feel uplifted.
How we built it
We built this app through the use of Python and React.
Challenges we ran into
Since we haven't utilized both Python and React within a progress, there definitely was struggles to find videos and good resources to apply to the site to make it functional, but working together paid off to solve a lot of the issues we came across.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're super proud of getting the map to function. We had discovered Mapbox and thought It completely matched what we were designing.
What we learned
Throughout this process, we were able to learn from each other. With one of us being into front-end, one in full-stack, and the other backend, we could all grow and learn from what we knew to create this site.
What's next for Echostage
In further development we want to polish up visuals and add more features such as resources pages and events.
