Our mission is to revolutionize environmental awareness through an engaging and impactful approach – gaming.

Inspiration

We were inspired by the concept of escape rooms, so we made a simple environment-themed puzzle game that takes the concept of escape rooms and combines it with environmental awareness.

What it does

Our project is an escape room game that hopes bring climate awareness to its players.

How we built it

The website is hosted on Google Cloud Platform with a bucket and load balancer. The game was built with Python Kivy in Pycharm.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge was getting started. As beginners, we don't have much experience, so our biggest obstacle was getting started and learning everything about the tools we needed to build this project. For the website, it was figuring out GCP, and for the game, it was figuring out how to debug it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We made a nice website and we have a game that works.

What we learned

We learned a lot about how websites work and how difficult the game development process is. Even coding a button is challenging sometimes.

What's next for Eco-Escape

We think the concept is there and we think there is potential. We have the next room planned out, and we may work on this outside of DevFest.
