Eco Fresh

Inspiration

We really wanted to provide the homeless shelters with food but not make the extra effort, so we thought of this concept where we could just get our leftover food delivered to the people who need it the most.

What it does

How many times have you thrown out food just because it gets leftover? Too many times to count, right? I, personally, and many other people I know have done that. Such a waste of food, right?

How we built it

The backend is built in node.js and factify and we are using Prisma dB (with sqlite)

The front end is built in python + pygame

Challenges we ran into

We struggled to come up with a suitable idea. Along with this complication, we also struggled to effectively communicate with the other people in our team.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of all the work that we did coming up with this idea and collaborating. At first, only one teammate could code, but later he helped up a lot with the back end work and also taught another teammate to code as well. The rest of the team helped with the PowerPoint and writeups

What we learned

We very much enjoyed this event and it was a great opportunity overall. We also learned a few coding basics from our experienced teammate Varshith, which was also fun.
