Inspiration - Inspired by a commitment to reduce carbon emissions and create a sustainable future. The beauty of nature also inspired us and it is our responsibility to protect it.
What it does - Users will use a mobile application linked to apple health designed to monitor their how many miles they travel each week, which will then generate a score on a scale of 100. They should aim for a lower score, which would mean lower amount of miles traveled. For instance, an individual scoring 82 due to extensive travel will receive just 18 points, contributing to reduced prices for public transportation services such as NJ Transit and EZ-Pass. However, people who travel less with minimal travel, such as earning a score of 11, will be awarded 89 points, resulting in cheapter economical public transport fares. The primary objective is to promote widespread carpooling, thereby mitigating carbon and gas emissions and overall environmental pollution.
How we built it - We built EcoEssence using Wix, harnessing the platform's versatile tools to integrate accurate mileage tracking, scoring algorithms, and an intuitive user interface. Wix provided an efficient and user-friendly framework, enabling our team to deliver a robust and visually appealing solution for sustainable commuting.
