Inspiration

EcoPlay was born from a frustration: financial literacy is either boring or intimidating. As a Duolingo addict, I realized gamification could transform how we learn money skills. My experience with finance courses inspired me to build a platform where users earn XP for completing real-world financial scenarios—making learning as addictive as gaming.

What it does

EcoPlay turns financial education into an interactive RPG: Scenario Challenges: Complete missions (e.g., "Survive a Rent Increase" or "Invest $1,000 Virtually") to earn XP. Duolingo-Style Progression: Level up your "Financial IQ" with streaks, badges, and skill trees. Leaderboards: Weekly competitions (coming soon!) to compare scores with friends.

How we built it

Scenarios Engine: Designed 15+ branching financial scenarios (e.g., "Credit Card Debt Crisis") with React. XP System: Built with Prisma to track user progress and calculate dynamic rewards.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing Fun & Education: Making scenarios both engaging and pedagogically sound. Prisma Optimizations: Handling concurrent XP updates during high traffic (solved with transactions). Leaderboard Delay: Postponed to V2 to focus on core gameplay (but design is ready!).

What's next for EcoPlay

Leaderboards: Release in 2 weeks (React + WebSockets for real-time updates). Mobile App: React Native version planned. NFT Achievements: Partnering with Solana for verifiable credentials.
