Inspiration

What it does

The program takes students' input such as GPA, SAT, location preferences, and religious affiliation, and matches their stats with universities that would accept them.

How we built it

The back end of the program is written in JavaScript, It takes data from Universities all over the USA, does the calculation for the admission rate, and the front end, coded using CSS and HTML, receives the user input and outputs the universities that match with them.

Challenges we ran into

Web scraping was the major problem that we faced because we had to learn that on the fly and it was confusing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have successfully created a website using HTML and CSS supported by a solid back-end code so we achieved our goal.

What we learned

We learned about data scraping and since some of the members are new to coding in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, it was an opportunity for them to learn to use new languages.

What's next for Edu Mentor

There should be some polishing to make for the front end.
