Taking a government class at school, I learned how the youth are less involved in education, as well as the potential downward spiral our government could take with party polarity.
Whenever I take a shower, I wonder how much water I'm really using. Also, I wanted to try out a water asset in Unity.
There were always random moments when a size comparison would have been useful.
## What it does
A ball-shaped character goes through a politically-themed obstacle course, advising the importance of voting and which news sites to use.
A comparison between average yearly American usage of water and a 6' individual, as well as a parkour course on the top of the water.
An adjustable size comparison for two rectangular prisms.
## How we built it
Starting zone for the character (a plane) + skybox.
Character + camera control scripts.
Political obstacle course: creating bounce pads, ramps, and materials for the parties and news media.
Water comparison: working out the water asset, importing a person to compare, scaling, and addition of bounce pads.
Adjustable size comparison: making the scripts and UI for the adjustments of the rectangular prisms.
## Challenges we ran into
Aesthetic: fonts, map design, etc.
Multiplayer: (did not get it to work, had issues with the prefab list in the networking).
Balance: gravity, speed, and drag.
## Accomplishments that we're proud of
What we learned
Basic Unity physics (gravity, drag, force).
Better understanding of assets and materials.
Preinstalled Unity functions (fixedupdate()).
## What's next for Eduroll
Multiplayer
Obstacles: make more interesting jumps and different types of challenges for the character.
Improved content.
Aesthetics: Having a common theme, better assets, cleaning up inconsistent positions of objects.
