Inspiration
Our inspiration for this project were our own experiences in school and other students' experiences. We noticed that people can't get help easily in their everyday school subjects.
What it does
Our website allows students to get help in their school subjects by pairing them with a volunteer that is proficient in that subject. This permits students to get help and volunteers to be able to participate in the school community.
How we built it
We built it using Django as the database. It uses react, python, Zegocloud's api to get video conferencing working.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into many problems regarding Zegocloud and the video conferencing. Permissions kept getting blocked every time we tried to use it in our website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of making the UI look and feel as good as possible and getting the video conferencing to work.
What we learned
We learned how to use geolocation and find volunteers and students in a specific radius. We also learned how to get video conferencing.
What's next for EduSpark
Adding new features such as accessibility options, an optional AI tutor, etc.
