Inspiration

We want to allow disabled people to experience the same access to the healthcare as everyone else. We felt that ironically, disabilities often do not get the care that they need. Mobility issues, and other disabilities prevent them from independently seeking the help they need, and have to depend on others, such as family members to help them to medical facilities. We wished to find a way to allow them to be more independent.

What it does

In line with SG Enable’s problem statement to empower and equip persons with disabilities to easily access services and products, we have created a health portal website that instantly matches patients (with disabilities) with doctors that they need.

How we built it

We built the frontend using HTML and CSS files, and used PHP to link it to our MySQL database. Do check out our GitHub repository for this hackathon here: https://github.com/MustafaAH10/hackforgood

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We managed to build a functional website with a working front and back-end linking various frameworks together to create a somewhat seamless user experience.

What's next

Assimilation of SingPass services for log-in: would make verification of disabled patients and accredited doctors convenient Chat function: currently, the service only displays contact information of possibly relevant doctors/patients. In the future, they could have a chat function to communicate with each other within the app first. Matching function: currently, we allow patients to filter doctors based on the specialty they may need. In the future, we would ideally match doctors with patients based on specialty, needs, preferred languages, as well as history.
