Inspiration
Due to the COVID19 crisis, millions of people are confined in their houses. This quarantine is impacting their electrical consumption and increasing their utility expenses. On top of that, many households have decreased their income due to the general increase in layoffs.
It is very difficult for regular consumers to become energetically self-sufficient with renewable energies, such as installing a solar panel on their roof. This is mainly because it is necessary to do a big investment and they have to do much paperwork to install them (buy the panels, install them, register on the electricity grid).
Moreover, one of the biggest challenges that financial and public institutions have, is to speed-up access to financial support directly to the consumer. One of the barriers to credit is the requirements established to ensure the payback and the lack of guarantees.
With this project, we want to contribute to the creation of new business models that are sustainable with the environment and that have a positive reversion in the short and long term. The COVID has shown us that we can decrease our CO2 emissions by at least 60%, but one of the few actors who has increased their carbon footprint are households (+30%). With each person who installs a solar panel in their home, we save almost 1 ton of CO2 emissions each year.
What it does
Our Solution consists of a Marketplace where we can offer households a 3 click app to get their solar panel project profile. This would include: • Brief economic case study and benefits summary. • Budget • Financing options and • A prices comparative of the local certified installers
Challenges I ran into
Developed the concept of the marketplace from scratch
