Inspiration

Because of the fact that we are in a drought, that air pollution is at an all time high, and that the fossil fuels of the world are depleting faster than ever, we decided to make an app that would let people be aware of these problems, and let them do something about these issues as well.

What it does

Measures and graphs water usage per day Measures electrical usage per month Shows user air quality across various regions across the United States

How I built it

Using the Java language with Android Studio, as well as data from airnow.gov

Challenges I ran into

How to divide up the task Initially math formulas for electricity usage Trying to use a database for app

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We were able to use user input and produce meaningful results and statistics along with it

What I learned

How to develop simple apps for Android How to sync databases with app

What's next for EnviroMonitor

Trying to make pollution maps fetch current data
