Environeer is a broadly applicable, interactive, user-friendly application that focuses on improving the user's knowledge of energy efficiency and challenging them to improve.
Inspired by challenges such as Jump Rope For Heart where participants complete tasks to earn points and rewards.
Our project inspires participants to be more sustainable in their energy use by challenging them to complete certain tasks to reduce their energy usage, incentivizing them by providing rewards to the most accomplished Environeers.
We used the languages HTML, CSS, and JS to create the website. With the HTML, we built the overall structure of the page, knowing that we wanted several features on the page, we utilized a side bar to hold the different features, and included all of the relevant code for the features in the JSS file. CSS was used to position certain elements, and animate some elements without being too distracting to the overall function of the website.
In the beginning, we had issues with GIThub, but overcame them. Later it was difficult to learn mongoDB.
We learned much about the environment and how useful it can be to reduce carbon emissions and help encourage it
Next is integrating a reminder app that helps the user with a lot of saving the environment and reminding them to do so.
