Inspiration

Our inspiration comes from our shared job as technologists for the Makerspace of Shannon library open to the community. There, we teach and assist in creating various art pieces and creative projects for and with the local community. We realized that other creatives do not have an easy method to connect with the artistic community and that was the basis for our project.

What it does

EVEND is a site that allows you to join or start up the local business scene. The information for applications and artistic categories are clear. The tag system encourages product diversity and appeals to different art forms / event types. In addition, based on your city or the time of year, there are tailored highlights to celebrate diversity and heritage.

How we built it

We implemented Canva for the planning and drafting process. Additionally, we used HTML and CSS and GitHub to develop our site.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into challenges regarding HTML and CSS as we are all beginner hackers. It was learning process as we created our project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are extremely proud of how much we have learned within this project because we are all beginners and did not have experience in HTML and CSS. Additionally, it took us a lot of time and effort to pull the pieces together with the planning, designing, and creating process. Overall, we are proud of how we persevered through the struggles of learning something new.

What we learned

This project has helped us refine our time management, collaboration, and problem solving skills. We had also learned more about how to use HTML, CSS, and Github.
