Inspiration

Finding a event for showcasing you skills or finding a community you would love to be a part of, is little exhausting and overwhelming. There are so many communities/organisation out there who organise different types of programs. Most of us know about these programs from social media. But the problem is, there are so many people out there for whom finding programs which appeal to them is something near or impossible because of the lack of platform which displays all the certain events/programs taken place. And so we end up not knowing what to follow, whom to trust and spend hours and hours just researching about programs that we take pleasure in, which then just ends butchering productivity. the main aim of our app is to provide a platform in which people can easily post about events they are organising and people who are interested in them, can easily contact the organiser and participate in them. There also many good events which did not much popularity due to the lack of participators. To solve all these we created the "Event Hunter".

What it does

It is a simple app prototype. Our app will be able to show events based on personal preference. Users can see events that are being held and contact the organizers to join the event. Users also can share events they are conducting by clicking on the host button. Host also have the option to edit or delete their event after hosting it.

How I built it

We developed our app design using figma.

Challenges I ran into

It was our first hackathon and we don't have a single idea where to begin. Our first idea was to built app but we found that building a small app is not that easy. So we decided to prototype our app in figma. It was my first time using figma. Thanks to figma's simple user interface, we're able to learn it and built our prototype. After we created the design we realized that we haven't done it selecting a frame and it lead to resize entire design, it was like building the design from scratch. Our biggest challenge was to learn and build our prototype in the limited time.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

It was my first app prototype I have built and I am really proud of it. I thought that designing was not my go but it was an awesome experience. I have never thought that I had this creativity inside me. Learning figma and building an designing it. Am also proud to lead my team and unite them to work on this project.

What I learned

In this hackathon I learned a lot of things. The important thing I learnt from our project is UI/UX designing is hard, they are similar to coding and if you are prototyping always select a frame. I learnt how to be active in a group, realized there are lot of people to help you, and mainly I realized the importance of a participating in hackathons.

What's next for Event Hunter

Make it a real app/website. Make it more visually stunning. Add more preferences Add a verification to active users and reviews section for users to review a program/organizer
