Inspiration

The inspiration came from our own problems with healthy eating. We found it hard to manage our taste and the concept of healthy eating. Most of what we thought of as "healthy" were these expensive Westernized meals such as salad and protein shakes. As a result, Everymeal came into our plan. Everymeal allows users to track and maintain healthy eating routines, while also having culturally diverse and finically-accommodations for the user. A meal for everyone.

What it does

Everymeal first starts with a diagnostic, asking the user what food goals they want as well as other important data relating to their meal plans. It then takes that information and suggests diverse and inexpensive meals that follow the user's needs. Everymeal also comes with a built-in meal plan tracker, which lists the user's meal plans for the day. The user then can rate the meals in the plan, which can further be used to create more orientated suggestions towards the user. The more the users use Everymeal, the more catered the app will be towards the user. The app includes a variety of information on diverse ethnic foods and different food restrictions in order to cater to the individual user's needs.

How we built it

Our team utilized Figma to create a demo of what the app will look like for users. We utilized Figma Components and Variants in our project.

Challenges we ran into

As this was all of our first time using Figma, we ran into quite a few challenges. At first, it was confusing to navigate but thanks to the help of Figma's Youtube channel we were able to learn more and complete our project. The creation of components was a challenge for us however, we were able to overcome the challenge by attending the Prototyping in Figma Workshop.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Accomplishments that we’re proud of include learning a new skill and platform from Figma, that helped us grow as hackers. We are also proud of creating a project that solves a problem that is personal for us.
