Inspiration
My inspiration for Extraction Run was to give the player the ability to customize each run before hand. Giving some variety to reach run.
What it does
Extraction Run is a Solo or 3 player co-op platformer where the player must escort the objective to the finishing line as fast as possible.
How we built it
This world was built using modular assets I made that can be customized with a press of a button to help easily add some customization to help change the feeling of the world with each playthrough.
Challenges we ran into
Making modular assets while trying to keep them decently optimized for the Meta World limits would be one of the biggest challenges I would say. Using my experience developing mobile games which requires high levels optimization, I like to think I managed to.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I would say the customizable aspect of the world would be may favorite part.
What we learned
This project's main lessons seemed to be optimizing assets and scripts. As I've never actually uploaded any assets to the meta store until this project.
What's next for Extraction Run
I would like to continue to flush out the gameplay and multiplayer. I would also like to add move variety to each arena's platforms.
