Inspiration

The inspiration for this project likely arises from a combination of empathy, technological innovation, social responsibility, and personal connections, all aimed at improving the lives of visually impaired individuals and promoting greater accessibility and inclusion in society . According to the World Health Organization (WHO), at least 2.2 billion people globally have a vision impairment which cannot be corrected throughout their life. So to make their life easy for that EYESEAKER is introduced.

What it does

Imagine a world where technology can bridge the gap between sighted and visually impaired individuals, enabling greater independence and accessibility. Introducing Envision AI, a groundbreaking project that leverages artificial intelligence and voice assistance to empower visually impaired individuals in their daily lives.

How we built it

EYE SEAKER does not require any type of hardware it only depends on software only made of using following API and development software like Import necessary libraries: import cv2, import pyttsx3. Load pre-trained object detection model , YOLO(you only look once ),NLP(natural language processor) Capture video stream Detect objects in each frame: detections Convert detected objects to text Output voice notification

Challenges we ran into

Object detection models may struggle with accuracy in complex environments or with objects that look similar to one another. There may also be privacy concerns with constantly active cameras and microphones. The main challenges among all of these is to maintain the battery consumption of device and mobile phone so that people can use it for longer time and this may affect the efficiency of EYE SEAKER .

Accomplishments that we're proud of

There are some factors that we Accomplishments:-

Compatibility :- We provide EYESEAKER to be more compatible through out all major devices and as a result our projects not only keep up with devices that carry higher end specification but also we try to make it compatible to other devices .

Efficiency:-We provide EYESEAKER to be more efficient in motion detection , gesture tracking , object detection while using it in vast conditions (In dark room -here we take advantage of flash light) as efficiency is a factor that depends upon usages ,load on devices and its specification so try to make is as much efficient till now but as u know efficiency can be increased later on by apps development(updates).

Accessibility :-We provide EYESEAKER to be accessible through out the world that everyone can access to eye seaker and we also introduce language section (to remove language barrier) and make it compatible for most type of devices like ios , android by maintaining battery usage , specification .

Simplicity :- We provide EYESEAKER to be more simple that whoever is using the app can use it by simple instruction or by voice assistance (to navigate within the app) . Its also provide a user friendly interface that its focus on clear voice notifications that inform users about detected objects in their surroundings.

What we learned

The importance of leveraging technology, specifically AI, to create solutions that enhance accessibility for individuals with disabilities. By using AI-powered object detection and voice assistance, visually impaired individuals can gain more independence and navigate their surroundings more confidently.

Designing AI systems for individuals with disabilities requires a human-centric approach. It's essential to consider the specific needs, challenges, and preferences of the target users throughout the development process to create solutions that are truly useful and user-friendly.

What's next for EYE SEAKER

EYE SEAKER is not just stopping here we have a great plan to increase the efficiency of EYE SEAKER and we also look forward to create many different projects like this and we will try to explore many more different domains.
