ezSkill
About us
Hey! We’re team ez - a group consisting of 14-15 year olds. We hate love web development, and we suck are decent at it.
Inspiration
We wanted to make an easy way to review clips and take notes on mistakes, and be able to share it with the community for more feedback.
What it does
With ezSkill, users can upload videos / questions to the site, and other users can provide feedback or answers to these questions. This way, everyone can learn new skills for free from the community. As a bonus, GPT-3 will try to answer user questions. If its response doesn't answer the user's question, then the question is posted to the main site. This helps to declutter the site so that the experience is more streamlined for new users.
How we built it
We used next.js for all of the front end, and express for the backend with SQL for the database.
Challenges we ran into
The main page was proving very difficult to make, especially since we were using next.js, a framework we have never used before. Plus, we used chatgpt to help with some issues we ran into.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We finished most of the backend work in just 2 hours, although we spent much more time translating the json database into SQL.
What we learned
We learned how to use next.js and got a good ol’ refresher on JS in general.
What's next for ezSkill
Email verification was a feature we wanted to implement but didn’t have enough time to, along with verified users (users who have proof that they are experienced in a skill).
