Inspiration
We were inspired by the idea that there should be more ways to defend ourselves from creepy people.
What it does
This would allow people to make a fake phone call so people would be more dissuaded from attacking someone.
How we built it
We used React as our front end with Tailwind.css for styling. We used Next.js for our backend. We also used MongoDB Atlas for our database and we used sesame.com for our fake call.
Challenges we ran into
We had some issues running sesame.ai as it wasn't linking to our frontend properly. We also had some issues with our texting applications.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to get a good concept and turn it into something of a work in progress. We also managed to learn how to use tools like Mongoose and twilio.
What we learned
We learned how to use Next.js, Tailwind.css, twilio, and the mongoose library for MongoDB.
What's next for Fauxcall
We would spend more time implementing the AI. We would also add more intricate forms that allow people to add as many emergency contacts they want to at a time.
