Inspiration

Every CSR activity requires the mindset to help humanity and environment, empathetic volunteers and monetary aid. Keeping this in mind, I would like to suggest the idea ‘FINAID’ where employees will be open to donate from their salaries as per their approval. The amount can be as low as the smallest denomination i.e. Rs.1 to an extent they would want to. While a single buck deducted from our salary would not affect us much but the collective contribution of such funds within the organization can help a person/cause. The idea is to give an option for employees to select amount and duration so that they can provide financial aid towards a collective fund.

What it does

1.Volunteering to donate from salary by providing an amount and duration, the data will be passed on to Finance team. 2.Donate a one time amount if not monthly from salary. 3.Being transparent to employees in terms of where the donations are used. 4.Employees can request fund in case of emergency, which on approval of HR can be dispersed.

As of now when a natural calamity occurs we send out mails manually for donation instead FinAid will automatically generate mail to all employees.

USP

1.Secure platform which instills trust. 2.Easy to use GUI. 3.Payment(donation) is a few clicks away. 4.Monthly donation without failure to remember. 5.Option to donate as well as request funds.

What tech and tools were used for creating the web portal are:

FFDC ->Consumer fund transfer API.

Challenges I ran into

Using the FFDC API was a challenge which took some time to be perfected.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are proud that we are raising awareness about existing CSR policies and facts. We are motivating our finastra family to donate for causes that are close to them.

What I learned

In this process of making FinAid we have become much more aware of what's in place, what can be added and modified. As individuals we have developed a bond and are acting little more cross functional than we were before. Our brainstorming and discussions have led us to be more understanding and accepting of others.

What's next for FINAID

We intend to make FinAid go global, and not just use at our site(Pune) and in this initiative we encourage finastra to create a trust account. And furthermore to motivate our employee's we want finastra to recognize donors by giving out periodic awards.
