Inspiration

We were inspired by current events in the realm of cybersecurity, such as the recent T-Mobile data breach this past August, as well as the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack in May. Incidents like these are indicative of the need for companies to make securing their IT infrastructure one of their top expenses, especially in this day and age. Our team, Final Four, took this inspiration to create a cybersecurity solution for Phisherman, a small fishing/marine product company that has received a new line of technologies meant to increase business productivity.

What it does

Our solution was a two-factor authentication system to ensure maximum security of a Phisherman employee's account, as well as Phisherman's company data.

How we built it

Visual Studio Code, Figma

Challenges we ran into

Lack of prior knowledge, time constraints, combining the Figma UX/UI with our backend code, learning React from scratch

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a brand new, visually appealing employee portal interface for Phisherman, as well as figuring out a way to code out a 2FA security system.

What we learned

UX/UI design with Figma, CSS/HTML/Java/React concepts

What's next for Final Four

We hope that our cybersecurity solution for Phishermen will be implemented for all their employees, and we also aim to provide our expertise and services for other small businesses and companies. Given the prevalence of cybersecurity incidents in today's modern world, we want our clients to be well-prepared for the worst-case scenario when it comes to their sensitive information.
