Inspiration

I started working for a huge international law firm, and learned how important finances are from the attorneys in the Private Wealth sector. They taught me tips and tricks and I did my own research and saw how powerful it can be to really understand finances.

What it does

finanshells.tech is a website that clearly defines financial terms, and gives a general guide on how it can be used.

How we built it

simple and clean, HTML and Bootstrap for structure.

Challenges we ran into

Only challenge was initial setup, I was going to use my personal digital ocean account to host the site but luckily a friend told me Azure was free, so I hosted the site on a Ubuntu vm on MS Azure.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Sent the link to a few friends, family and mentors and they loves how simple and educational the site is.

What we learned

Learned that not many people I spoke with at shell hacks knew the terms or the importance of knowing that you're not overspending

What's next for FINANSHELLS

Ideally I'd want to expand the websites with more terms and a search feature, and start uploading videos so people that learn visually can understand better. I also want to add form that people can input their financial details so that it can recommend the next steps to take for financial freedom.
