What Inspired us

One of our main inspiration was TON, and how clever Pavel Durov has integrated TON to Telegram with Open TON Foundation to 100% legally bypass the SEC ban and integrate TON coin into Telegram using an open environment for developers and TON foundation

What bounty Challenges we picked to solve ?

Our main goal was Challenge #2: Best app using Ramp.

But we solved Multi Challenge for Ramp.Network We made not just the best app using Ramp, but also the best app which use blockchain without showing it (Challenge #1: Best app using blockchain without showing it)

How we did this ?

We integrated Ramp to Telegram, in a way that any blockchain or non-blockchain user can make payments with crypto. And even if user don't understand what is Address, Coin, Chains, he still can make payment in it, very fast 1-2 min!

We are strong belief that our solution solve 2 challenges.

What We Had

  • Telegram has 700 millions users, big amount already know about crypto and use it, specially Telegram users, but a lot of them are still not familiar with Crypto. People need Crypto in telegram in easy steps.

  • Even non-familiar blockchain users can’t use it under the hood. People need heroes, who can make it less hustle

  • People who are non-blockchain users have not a fast possibility to pay to seller now who accept just crypto as payment method

What Ramp Bot does

  • Increase quantity of Ramp Users by adding it to Telegram with different option to open and work with Ramp Buy Widget

  • We gave possibility to add Buy Widget to Telegram attachments menu, so user can anytime in chat with any user, open Ramp and buy/send crypto fastest as possible, without leaving app

  • We gave possibility to «seller» request payment to given address in chat with any user by Ramp Telegram Bot

How we built it

It was a long brainstorm, during which Maxim just opened a PuzzleBot no-code platform and implemented one of the ideas in just 5 minutes! So we focused on it

Rest of the time we are working on implementing a better and more user friendly version of the bot. We used python and telegram bot api

Challenges we ran into

  • Test api is working unstable
  • There are a few ramp api methods. Api is still in development
  • Inline bot api + suggesting in-attachment payment.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • We hacked the opinion «crypto widgets in the telegram are hard to implement»
  • We made the first prototype fast. It tooks 5 minutes and no one line of code

What's next for Ramp Telegram bot

  • Shortcut buying goods in the telegram public and one-to-one chats. Prefills price, wallet id and other significant params
  • Ask Durov to add the Ramp to the telega 😉 Okay…, in other words reach the telegram team out and bug them to allow companies to buy Attachment Menu spots on user demand. Currently it’s available only in the test environment.
  • We can add any new telegram living features ramp need

@ramp_bot works in the Telegram Test env only now. So, you should tap 10 times on settings icon at right-bottom corner on iOS and create test user on the same phone you have
