Inspiration

Users often have several different apps for several different accounts and finance purposes Challenges were that users had were to keep track of each balance Users often use bank savings as a form of payment when they have external cash balances

What it does

Our web app allows users to view their financial data from almost any bank, look for nearby ATMs and financial institutions in a clean easy to use secure dashboard.

How I built it

We primarily used pure javascript and embeddedJS to implement a few google cloud APIs and the Plaid financial services API. Our designer used Adobe XD to put it all together

Challenges I ran into

All of us were new to developing web apps and it was our first time actually using APIs.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We were all able to pick up JavaScript and incorporating APIs on the fly into our very first web app.

What I learned

How to work better in a team, JavaScript, Google Cloud APIs, and Plaid API. The importance of a clean and easy to use UI

I worked on integrating the Google Maps/Places API that allowed us to find all nearby ATMs in San Luis Obispo. It was really difficult for me to figure out initially because I was trying to convert the existing Google code into react. But after settling on using html as the base code, it became a lot smoother. I learned a lot from this experience and am excited to use more Google APIs in the future for future projects.

I worked on the UI/UX Design for our web app. I did the user research (surveys and interviews) in order to figure out our problems and brainstorm solutions. I then went in to create a sitemap and the user flows/wireframes to create low-fidelity mockups. Finally, I utilized Adobe XD in order to apply the style guide to a digitized, high-fidelity prototype of our clean and easy to use interface.
