finHERS

Inspiration

We saw all the women at a HackHERS hackathon as well as mainly financial companies sponsoring this hackathon, which inspired us to create an app that helps women who are beginners to finance to learn more about it.

What it does

This website is to help new women in finance to help them navigate their way through this tough, male-dominated field. This website focuses more on financial literacy.

How we built it

We built it through React and Visual Studio Code with JSX.

Challenges we ran into

We came across numerous challenges, such as many team changes, issues with React, etc., but in the end, my teammate and I were able to overcome these challenges and work together to make a functioning and well-developed app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are really proud of the application itself because the issues finally got resolved after a day of having issues and not working.

What we learned

We learned much more about time management and as well as more about React and JSX throughout this process.

What's next for finHERS

We will be implementing the use of AI as a source for women who need detailed help in finance, as well as more of a detailed website with more information. We will also be regularly monitoring S&P 500 analytics with bigger finance companies, such as ADP and Vanguard analytics.
