Inspiration 💭

Traditional finance education is often complex, time-taking, overwhelming, and, let’s be honest, boring for anyone. However, stats say that women, specifically, are less financially literate than men in most countries despite having same education and socio economic backgrounds. They excel at saving and maintaining stability, yet many hesitate when it comes to growth and investing—not because they lack ability, but due to systemic barriers and lower financial confidence. But Ironically, women hold more responsibility, be it biologically, career breaks, caregiving responsibilities, retirement planning and what not - so its them who should invest & plan more than anyone.

That’s why we created Finnix—a gamified AI assisted fintech platform to learn finances the fun way! Just spend a few mins with Finn the Whale, our sweet mascot everyday and become a business whale! Learn financial vocabulary, investment vehicles, watch your confidence grow. Through fun, bite-sized learning, you’ll go beyond saving and start making smarter financial planning and investment decisions. Ready to level up?

Challenges we ran into 🤯

💪🏻 UI Design: For making it engaging and clutter-free when user starts to learn without removing the necessary details, we had to brainstorm on the UI screens.

💪🏻 Gemini API integration: We are using google gemini with prompt engineering to generate the questions at each level for the user related to the topic they are at - the process of automating prompts and structuring input/outputs by storing them in MongoDB was challenging.

💪🏻 Frontend Development: Making sure to align with prototyped UI while coding in react was a challenge. from icons to progress bars to motion of text and components many things had to be rethought as we went through development.

Accomplishments that we're proud of 🔥

🏆 UI Prototype Design: We were able to design all the screens that where we set our target for 24 hours.

🏆 AI integration + Backend: Integrating AI into backend cuts short memory usage of the application - our content is not stored but still controlled by us.

🏆 Frontend: After several tutorials, we were able to make sure we closely resembled what we thought of in our Figma Prototype.
