Firefinder

Inspiration

This project started out as a global warming tracker but we soon realized this was out of scope for a 24 hour hackathon, so we made the scope smaller and made fire finder.

What it does

It currently finds active fires from July 4 ,2015.

How I built it

We built this with Javascript, HTML, CSS, google maps API and open data from NASA.

Challenges I ran into

We made our scope too broad in the beginning and couldn't add multiple dates to the project to prove our point.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We got the red dots to show up around the proper places.

What I learned

We learned how to use APIs and scope smaller.

What's next for Firefinder

WE would like to add more dates and a drop down menu to go back to our original mission or showing how global warming has affects the planet.
