Inspiration
My friend and I have seen ourselves follow an unhealthy lifestyle without any exercise lately. The pandemic this year only complemented this unhealthy lifestyle. FitFT is our approach to what will motivate us to exercise, how exercise would not only incentivise us healthwise. The rise in popularity of the crypto space and the rise of Non Fungible tokens in recent times inspired us to build FitFT.
What it does
FitFT assigns its users with an NFT when they start. Users have to link their FitFT account with a smartwatch or a fitness tracker. FitFT syncs the calories burnt by the user only the token and the user gets to breed their NFT on reaching certain milestones.
On reaching milestones, users get to breed their token with other user's tokens and mint a new token with characteristics from both user's tokens that they can then sell to new users who are joining FitFT.
How we built it
The smart contract for this NFT is based on the ERC721 token on the ethereum blockchain. This app was then deployed on Molaris (Similar to firebase but for dapps)
Challenges we ran into
Breeding and Evolving our token were new and were quite challenging for us to implement.
What's next for FitFT
FitFT will bring interactive game-like characters instead of pattern images as tokens to make it even more interesting for users.
