Inspiration

Focsi -patent pending- was created with the idea of studying students in mind. When we all sat around the table and thought about what a problem was that could need fixing, we realized it was bettering the people that will better our future. Students are so stressed about getting good grades, and succeeding they forget why school was created. To help the next generation expand their minds and better themselves, not focus on what your next report card will say. We want to put the fun back into learning and take the stress out. Whether a student doesn't enjoy the headaches that come with long nights, or just wants a place to have a peaceful study session, Focsi -patent pending- is right for you.

What it does

Focsi is a task based study helper. By having a timer and aesthetically pleasing music and visuals, it allows you to focus on your homework without any distractions. Along with some study games, Focsi helps you to study your lessons over a span of time in a way that would be individualized for you.

Stopwatch - Sometimes devoting a set amount of time to each of your assignments can be a bit tricky. Having a stopwatch on the website helps to keep track of just this for your own convenience!

Fox Scene - Having a calming scene to look at when studying can be perfect for those who sometimes get distracted by their surrounding study area. He is even animated to move when clicked.

Music icon - want to add a special addition to your calming fox scene? Click on the music icon on the top right of the screen on the main site and be sent to our website's very own calming music playlist on Spotify or connect your own :)

Calendar - The calendar icon allows you to keep track of all your assignments, once angina minimizing that stress of having multiple

How we built it

With history in Illustrator, website creation, HTML, and Scratch, we were able to build a website on Replit and create a moving peaceful environment through Illustrator and Scratch. We also researched good study tips and reviews to make sure the website is great for students.

Challenges we ran into

Our website designer was blocked from their website and had to wait for a computer, we struggled at times with good study materials that aren't completely overused.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to successfully divide and conquer to create Focsi is something we did not believe would happen.

What we learned

We learned that it actually is possible to make something big when you know so little. We worked together and united our minds to create something bigger than ourselves.

What's next for Focsi

A website by students made for students will go to further lengths to make sure everyone has the opportunity to learn to the best of their ability. The next step would be to go further in making the website more pleasing to the eye and the student by adding more resources, more resources, and more fun.
