Improve your productivity by scheduling out your time into more meaningful "focus sessions," inspired by the Pomodoro Technique
Inspiration
- I've been using Trello's automation feature to plan out my homework and study time but found it to be both lacking in features and free usability. I plan to improve this app enough to be able to use it every day instead!
What it does
- Provides a dashboard for students to consolidate to-do list items and run focus sessions, all while being easy on the eyes and easy to use
How we built it
- I built it from a Figma prototype. The design is meant to be user-friendly, and allow them to access, create, and plan tasks and 'Focus Sessions' without needless hassle. The published site uses vanilla HTML, JS, and CSS to replicate the design, with Google Cloud Firebase to save user data & tasks!
Challenges we ran into
- I had problems structuring out my time. I spent far longer on the design and its implementation then I planned to, and only started adding the Firebase integration in the last 1-2 hours!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- I'm proud that I got a fully working Firebase Firestore database and auth setup set up and working in this amount of time
What we learned
- I learned that I should prioritize function over form, I ended up being too picky about how it looked and did not have as much time as I wanted to build the actual content
What's next for FocusTime
- I want to fully finish and integrate the app dashboard pages beyond just quickly implemented wireframes.
