Inspiration

We go to a restaurant but actually don't know how the food coming to our table will look like, In the current traditional way the food in the menu doesn't look exactly the food that will come after the order also while ordering food through any food aggregator like Zomato, Swiggy or Uber eats

What it does

An AR based virtual Food menu web application made to preview the food with AR before ordering it in the restaurants, Hence reducing unwanted wastage of food.

How we built it

I used HTML, CSS and Javascript for developing the website and integrated it with echoAR 3D assets in the echoAR cloud for each of the menu item.

Challenges we ran into

Integration with echoAR was much easy but including css was a real struggle

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of the idea, It can solve many problems faced by people while ordering food online or offline both

What we learned

I learnt more about CSS and AR

So what all things can be implemented in this in the future:

  1. Can be used with any food service or restaurant aggregator like Zomato in which user can select the food item based on exact 3D preview of the food he will be getting after the order.

  2. We can use Deep Learning for converting the 2D image to a 3D model in one or two scans so that the local restaurant vendors just scan the new food they are adding in their menu without facing much complexity. (You can know more about this by searching the deep-z neural network)

  3. And the best thing is that it will be inexpensively scalable if going for SAAS startup
