Inspiration
One day, I was eating all alone in a dining hall. After looking at all of the groups of people around me (and also all the people sitting by themselves), I started wondering why even though I met dozens of people every day with whom I had said that I would hang out, it usually ended up not working out since neither me nor them took initiative to meet up. Thus, I came up with the idea for a social networking website that would allow you to meet up with friends at your convenience in groups that are neither too small nor too large.
What it does
Login with your Facebook account! Our website will fetch your friend-list immediately. Afterwards, you will have the chance to choose who you want to hang out with, and what time you will be available. Our algorithms will automatically go through your list and find the friends that will be available to hang out with you!! :)
Challenges we ran into
One of the big challenge we ran into was setting up the Facebook API. The Graph API was hard to interact with, specifically the asynchronous/callback issues we had to deal with. In addition, setting up mongoDB for backend database to store user data was not an easy task.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud as a team for what we have accomplished in the past 36 hours. I think our idea will transform the way people interact with each other. This is an app built for everyone; for you and Four Friends.
