Inspiration
We based our application and the problem we wanted to tackle on some of the examples that the company showed in their document for the challenge. The topic about food waste was something that we knew about before the competition, and finding information about it was easy. We saw that one of the problems was the lack of coordination that restaurants had when administering food that they did not use, but that was still in edible condition.
What it does
What our application prototype does is that it allows two types of persons to sign up, an individual or an organization. Each one of these users is allowed to either donate or receive food or waste, and they can interact with our application to help others or be helped.
How we built it
For the UI part, we designed the mockup with a website called moqup. The functional backend was done with the framework Flutter and the language Dart.
Challenges we ran into
It took us a lot of time to design the screens and get them working on the IDE.

What's next for FoWa
We will try to implement more functions for our app on our own.
