Über Fridge Manager

Unsere Website verfolgt den Frischegrad deines Lebensmittels. Einfach die Einstellungen wählen und etwas Neues hinzufügen, oder, wenn Sie einen Artikel bereits benutzt haben, aus die Sammlung entfernen klicken. Damit schafft man nicht nur die Frische im Haus optimal zu genießen, sondern auch die Quarantäne seltner zu verlassen. Das bedeutet weniger Supermarkt-Besuche--und mehr Sicherheit für alle.

Auch nach der Corona-Epidemie kann es weiter benutzt werden, um Lebensmittelverschwendung im Haushalt zu reduzieren.

Inspiration

During this epidemic, many people are stuck in their homes due to the quarantine. Food storage is one of the challenges that arose. We try hard to reduce supermarket visits (#wirbleibenzuhause!), but on the other hand, as cooking enthusiats, we also hesitate to give up on the freshness of our ingredients by hoarding (or, potentially wasting food).

Moreover, we're inspired by the Lebensmittel-Retter movement in Berlin, where people give "expired" or sad-looking goods a second chance. The expiration date on food packaging is often an arbitrarily designated date that leads to unnecessary food waste. The movement encourages people to rely on their senses (look, touch, smell, taste the food) to determine freshness, rather than the label on packages. We hope that after the epidemic, people will be able to reduce food waste by keeping better track of the items in their pantry with this app.

What it does

Fridge Manager allows users to keep track of their goods. It provides labeling using the date of purchase, date of expiry, as well as the user's subjective judgment of the freshness. Furthermore, the user may specify a date by which they wish to use the item (note that this can often be different from the date of expiry), which can be further combined with recipe suggestions to make better use of what they have.
