Inspiration

We were inspired by our hobby of attending concerts. We love meeting new people and realized that it was a well-structured idea to create something we enjoy partaking in.

What it does

Gala is an app where it matches people a few weeks ahead of concerts to try and help engage while participating in fun activities with new people. It is an app where people can be comfortable and share commonalities while attending concerts.

How we built it

We built it through a lot of brainstorming and mind-mapping. However, a big chunk of our time was spent on Figma and google authentication to try and help the login process become a lot easier and accessible.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges we ran into mainly consisted of two ideas which were first trying to work as a team with 2 individuals in the group that was new to tech and became a learning curve for this hackathon. Google authentication was one of the most difficult tasks in this project and trying to get it to work took a lot of time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our idea and how we were able to execute and create a web design/app that could possibly be useful to many college students that are trying to meet new people.

What we learned

We learned teamwork through splitting up into 2 designers and 2 developers to try and help the 2 individuals shadow their peers. There were many lessons that we could takeaway through this hackathon and one mainly being learning new things that we never thought we could do with programming or Figma.
