Inspiration
Since we use Google maps to explore places on Earth, we were inspired to make something like Google maps but for space
What it does
It functions similarly to Google maps but instead you can explore all the planets in our galaxy with the tourist attractions and places you can visit. It is a tool that can be used in the future when we can explore other planets.
How we built it
We built it using React.
Challenges we ran into
Our main challenge was that we are not very familiar with React.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to add some basic functionality to our website.
What we learned
We were able to refresh our skills in React and understand the framework better.
What's next for Galaxy Maps
The concept can be pulled in many directions. The environment created can be gamified, a social media aspect can be implemented or we could expand it into some sort of metaverse. These are some of the ideas we are currently looking into.
