Inspiration

As we were brainstorming ideas, we knew we wanted to make a static website that uses a backend feature. We all have a love for video games and we knew that there was a lack of websites that tailor towards gaming social media.

What it does

The website is a proof of concept but it is a gaming social media app where you can create badges to share on your page, create a user profile and join communities for various games

How I built it

We built the application using CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Firebase, and Bootstrap. We also managed version

Challenges I ran into

Creating a database in firebase was difficult since we were all new to the backend. It required us to seek additional help from peers to complete it

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are proud that we honed in our front end skills while using backend for the first time.

What I learned

We learned more CSS, HTML and had our first introduction to firebase

What's next for Game Shack

We want to continue our project by implementing more backend with a user authentication/ sign-in page. We want to create a user experience where someone can make there own profile, post to a community and more.
