Gemini Chess

Inspiration

The website chess.com, specifically its bot StockFish

What it does

Allows you to play chess with Gemini and analyze and review your game with the bot.

How we built it

Used our knowledge of frontend and backend, along with using Google Gemini to generate code.

Challenges we ran into

Problems with React libraries, chess logic, and website UI.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting the Gemini AI to connect to the back end and completing a part of our goal.

What we learned

We learned that generating code alongside Google Gemini isn't an easy task and that there are still difficulties with working just with its code. We also should create a Plan B to fall back on if Plan A doesn't work.

What's next for Gemini Chess

Using Socket.io to create player vs player games and adding gemini to analysis.
