Inspiration

Wouldn't you like to leave a lasting mark in the world, at any location, no matter where you are? To share discoveries nearby, leave messages, warnings, ideas or thoughts with unknown people that may follow in your exact footsteps? This is it, your idea, your thought, for anyone and everyone who will never come to know you personally.

What it does

GeoFinger allows you to leave messages IRL. Mark any location you visit with by leaving:

text
images
urls
or even archives and binaries.

Other people will find it, but only when they come to the same place.

Leaving this message/image/data will enable you to claim this space, this disables other people from leaving messages at the same location. People can read and vote on your message, high read/vote counts lead to fame-tokens being distributed to you. These tokens can be redeemed to create "message-tokens" for this specific location, which can be distributed so other people can also leave messages at this specific spot.

(It's a coin, only used at this location!).

All messages that are read and voted on will create more fame-tokens for the message writer, so people who contribute will also benefit from contributing with sensible content. The community drives the content, the content rewards the community. This can be extended to enable exchanging messages-tokens from different places with different exchange rates. In the future, you will be able to stake value on specific locations to participate on the "fame-token" distribution, that means you will get a small amount of fame-tokens for your stake, even without leaving a message, but this concept will go far beyond the scope of the hackathon.
