Inspiration

I wondered to create a simple but helpful Google Chrome extension for users to get better in basic life knowledge. After seeing plenty of videos on TikTok about how people worldwide cannot memorize countries' flags, capitals, and locations, I created a game to help.

What it does

The user has three options on the popup menu: Flags, Capitals, and Locations. Each section focuses on practicing the knowledge in its field by providing one correct answer and two wrong.

How we built it

I used VScode software to build it through JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. The images were taken from the internet and the icons were from the flaticon.com website.

Challenges we ran into

Since working solo, I faced the challenge of staying awake, debugging the code, and coming up with design ideas. The last section -locations- is also the hardest one to build since I had to create an interactive world map through JavaScript and NotePad++ which is not available for MacOS.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Two out of three sections work! Flags and Capitals are good for users to practice their knowledge!

What we learned

How to randomize the answers so that the user gets the questions in a random sequence.

What's next for GeoTab

Build the Locations section and finish the Front End development.
